Siemens – a multinational technology organization is known for outstanding performance and exceptional customer service with reliable, and consistent professional delivery. As a global organization, it has achieved standards that its customers can confidently depend upon no matter where in the world they interact with Sieman’s staff. 

Problem/Goal

To achieve this consistent, reliable, high standard in its project managers across the global organization, Siemens requires all its project managers to obtain the premier project management certification from the Project Management Institute, the Project Management Professional (PMP).  Siemens recognizes that intensive exam preparation and training is essential to achieve the best results. Therefore, Project Managers are bought in from all locations to a centralized facility and a professional, PMI certified trainer is procured to prepare the project managers to take the PMP Exam. 

Solution

Dr. Carole Brown, PMP, PgMP, ACP, and a certified PMI PMP trainer was bought in to lead a group of 40 Siemens project managers through an intensive five-day PMP Exam preparation class. Nine hours a day of lecture, quizzes, Q&A, and discussion takes place to help the project managers not only learn the material required but to study techniques for taking the exam, how to prepare for the exam, and what to expect in the exam. 

Results & Benefits

The project managers have up to one year to take the exam, and results are reported back intermittently. At this writing, all reported exam participants have passed the exam in their first sitting. These newly certified PMPs bring prestige and value to Siemens and their partners and customers. The knowledge gained in the project management discipline will enable them to perform at a professional level with confidence.
